WHAT ARE MAGNETIC BEADS? We use the highest quality permanent magnetic beads on the market for our designs. Commonly called magnetic hematite, hematine or magnetite, most magnetic beads are actually composed of high quality permanent ferrimagnetic ceramic compounds derived from hard ferrite iron oxides from hematite or magnetite plus other oxides that are fired, milled, pressed and re-fired into formed material retaining properties like high coercivity [resistant to demagnetizing] with high remanence [holding the magnetism], being magnetic flux conducive & having high magnetic permeability. The formed composites are finished by polishing for a natural look or plated by: pearlizing magnetic beads, dipping them in mother-of-pearl, plating with sterling silver or gold, acrylic colorings and enameled with patterns to name a few. |
